Sarah & Andy Spring Pre Shoot at Sandbanks

A great afternoon at sandbanks

So after a few re scheduled dates due to the typical British weather, we finally got together with Sarah & Andy to have a nice walk by the beach and take a few shots in the sun.

Anyone who knows Sandbanks will agree that its one of the most beautiful places in the South and with the level of the dunes, the afternoon light can be spectacular.

After meeting up we walked through shell bay avoiding a triathlon that was underway on the beach.
Sarah & Andy were pretty chilled out about being photographed so being in the thick of it didn't phase them at all, which is great for us and makes for good pictures.

we spent a couple of hours walking through the sand dunes, photographing through the grass and using the natural light to advantage, then down to the edge of the water to bag a few wide shots.

Sarah & Andy were a great couple to photograph and we are looking forward to their wedding in August, from what they tell us about their friends I have a feeling we are going to get some great images ... and perhaps a hangover.

Here's a few shots from the afternoon

cheers

Bastille at Bournemouth BIC

Bastille, Angel Haze, Brother & Bones

So off to another packed out night at the BIC  to cover Bastille for safeconcerts.com

I turn up early (as usual)..I hate being late for anything. to pick my press pass up for the nights gig, there's a real  positive vibe in the air and a great audience of different age groups, in fact it looks sold out.

first up was Brother & Bones http://www.brotherandbones.com/ the guys voice is pretty damn awesome. normal house lights made it pretty hard to shoot but it was a case of following the spotlight and getting the shot, this of course is easier to say than do but I got through it pretty well.

next up was Angel Haze http://www.angelhazemusic.com/ another strong act who kept the crowd going, loads of energy but a bugger to photograph as she moves at lightning speed.

Both acts were a great warm up for Bastille who were up next http://www.bastillebastille.com/home/

Its the first time I have seen these guys and they didn't disappoint, really strong sound and pretty theatrical (which live music should be IMO). As from a photography point of view it was damn hard, anything below 1600 ISO and 1/250 second and you're screwed. the guy moves like an eel on speed Whoopa.. click and you miss him. so it was another learning curve for me, but hey life is all about learning and that's fine with me.

overall Bastille put on a great show and I'd recommend catching them on their current tour.

The full set of images from all 3 bands can be found here on the safeconcerts website http://www.safeconcerts.com/photos/artist-photos.asp

but for now here's a few quick edits

cheers
