Chase & Status/Moko/Netski/Pusha T BIC

Chase & Status/Moko/Netski/Pusha T BIC

Another great night at Bournemouth's BIC to photograph Chase and status for www.safeconcerts.com
A totally huge crowd came together to catch the 4 acts kicking off with Moko, who I have to say was awesome. This is the first time I have photographed Chaise & Status, and I was warned before hand that the light was real bad to photograph in, and blimey they weren't kidding. talk about pushing your ISO to its limits. I thought my camera was going to keel over, Dark foregrounds with red and green (in your face) led lights coming at you like a starving Buzzard really doesn't help.

saying that, the silhouettes were pretty cool and the support bands were lit slightly better. but it was still an ace night with all 4 acts nailing it to the wall.

Gabrielle Aplin BIC

Gabrielle Aplin

So I headed down to the 02 the other night to cover Gabriell Aplin for  http://www.safeconcerts.com/

A great gig to a pretty big crowd supported by Jack Williams and Meadowlark, not the best of lighting conditions but I managed to get a few nice images.

Here's a few for now

SURFS UP

SURFS UP AT THE PIER

well the first real swell of the winter season seems to have finally arrived down here at Bournemouth. The crappy winds and hideous weather has left us with a perfect super glassy shoulder high wave which has super stoked those lucky enough to wag the day off work.

Myself, well man flu has taken over my week which has put a bar on paddling out back  so instead decided to photograph the local boys having a few well chosen slides.

gutted I didn't make the slide but photography is the next best thing

Here's a few from this morning

Its a bit windy down south

So the winters here

As if someone had turned on a light, the great British warm spell has gone. So lighten up, bang the clocks back, stick some chestnuts on the fire and embrace the wet weather for winter has arrived.
Can we really be positive about the British weather?
Sure we can. As a photographer, the light at this time of year is awesome. Low light and great colours - in my opinion you can't beat it.
Also, as a keen surfer, this is the time of year we longingly wait for: the cold winters days and long range forecasts pushing the swell up the channel, wondering if its powerful enough to generate good sized waves on our beautiful coastline.
and of course roasted chestnut's ... they are just terrific.
anyway here are a few images of the week

A New Festival For Bournemouth

Wheels Festival comming soon

So today I headed down to the seafront to help shoot the promo shots for Bournemouth's newest festival coming in the May Bank holiday.

This will be one of Britain's biggest free wheels themed family events, it comprises of 3 days of high energy action across the town and seafront.

Vehicles include Classic cars, BMX, MX, F1 cars supercars and Monster trucks but to name a few.

It looks like a great event and this twinned with the airshow could put Bournemouth high on the list of places to visit during the summer months.

follow the link above for more info.

Meanwhile here's a few images from the launch day

Jason & Lisa's Wedding

A little Portsmouth wedding

So this Friday we headed down to Portsmouth to photograph the wedding of Jason & Lisa.
A small family event with a handful of family and friends made for a lovely intimate wedding at the fabulous  historic Portsmouth register office, in Milldam House.

It was also great to see some familiar faces again as we had photographed previous family members some years ago.

A short ceremony followed by photographs in the garden, then off to Gosport for the reception made for a great day and a very happy bride & groom.

And here's a few images from the day X
